Pianos, Washers and Dryers – Oh My!

Pianos, Washers and Dryers – Oh My!

Well…for those of you who don’t know, Jen and I bought a piano as our Christmas gift to the family. Jen’s mom actually traded in her old one and helped us with the cost of obtaining a newer one. Jen and I both played when we were younger and we really wanted to have one in the house for the kids as they grow up. The piano itself is gorgeous. It’s a full upright, Samick in immaculate condition. It’s roughly 12 years old and had been previously owned by a piano teacher.
We have spent the last month tinkering around on it and it’s been great. The kids love it (even CJ ;) ), and we can’t wait until we can start to get them in lessons. Here’s a few pics of the new addition:

Also, in less exciting – but more practical news…we also got a new washer and dryer. Whoopie!! :D

We hope things are going GREAT for everyone!
Love,
MJCE&CJ

It is so wonderful to have a piano in the house again! I LOVE tinkering around on it…but I love it even more when Matt decides he wants to play. It’s like having a concert right in our front room! He is THAT good…no lie! I have to say that I love the washer and dryer almost as much. I went from doing 8 to 9 loads of laundry every Sunday to 3 or 4. Not only that…but it all get dried in time to be put away before the kids go to sleep. Truly amazing! :) Thank you to my mom for making the piano happen, and thanks to Matt for our wonderful Christmas gift to each other (who cares if it IS practical…).

  2. Thanks for the pics. I can’t wait to hear Matt play again! The piano is so pretty BUT so is the washer and dryer. WOW, they look great. We will be there in 9 days. So excited. How did you arrange the rest of the living room furniture? Is the couch in front of the window? Sorry to hear about CJ’s ear infection. Say hi to everyone and see you soon!
    Love, Mom

Yup…we put the couch in front of the window. It actually works pretty nice. But I guess you’ll see for yourself soon enough!! :D

The piano is beautiful……….hard to believe it is 12 yrs. old!! Matt we can remember watching you & Cory Scott play the piano ( Matt had to be “encouraged” to practice as we recall). :) I guess he did learn something Mom!! I like the washer & dryer too Jen and there is nothing wrong with “practical gifts”! Know you’re all anxious to see your Mom & Rusty. Give the little ones a hug from us.

Congratulations. I am sure you will have a great time tinkering and your children will have a new education.
I am a piano/classroom music teacher and blog mostly about music education. Maybe you’ll find my site interesting.
