It is so hard to believe that another summer has come and gone…but alas, this morning we found ourselves warped back into the land of lunch money, homework and ‘Who’s dropping off who today?’ discussions.
It was a tad different this morning since today was not only Cameron’s first day of Second Grade…but also Ellie’s first day of Kindergarten!! They both were SO excited that they didn’t even finish their breakfast. After a bit of a rush getting out the door, we headed off to school.
Those who’ve experienced it, understand that calling the whole ‘first-day-of-school-dropoff’ a MADHOUSE might be the understatement of the year…what, with 500 children, and 2 parents for each child, and 1 extra sibling for each parent, and …well, you get the point. So, even though there were 1000+ people milling about, the kids did great, and it was such a special time watching them start a new year. Ellie was so brave and confident as she strolled into class…and Cameron didn’t even bother waiting for us to say ‘good luck’ to him – as he walked on in without even turning to wave goodbye!!
Enjoy the pics! And here’s wishing everyone a WONDERFUL 2008/09 school year!!

I sure remember your and Cory’s first days of school, Matt. It was exciting, fun and sad all at the same time. Love the pictures. They do look happy about school, which is wonderful. Will call tonight and talk to the students!!!
Love, Mom
They both look so grown up! The photo of the two of them heading off to school is quite extraordinary. Love, GT
p.s. I just took a gander of the shot of CJ in the pink hat. Good One! It gets even funnier upon enlargement. Go CJ!
Cameron and Ellie did such a good job yesterday!!! Ellie was even excited that she came home with homework for the first time. School is just so much fun!!!
