Our Haunted House…

Our Haunted House…

Our spoooooooooooooky house...

For those of you who know me, you know that I absolutely LOVE Halloween!!  It’s easily my second favorite holiday behind Christmas.  So, obviously I was extremely excited to start the annual tradition of turning our house into a Haunted House!

Perhaps it’s that my favorite color is orange…or maybe it’s that I just love the twisted little figures that relate to Halloween…but whatever it is, I’m certain of the fact that I love this time of year.  I feel our house never looks as nice as it does during this season, with everything so ‘warm’ and inviting.  Literally everywhere you look there is a little knick-knack or reminder of the season.  I tried to take just a few pics of some of our decorations.  We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

We will continue to put out some more decorations over the next couple of weeks, and perhaps I’ll post an updated pic or two :) .  I also wanted to update you on one of our garden projects!  As I mentioned in a previous post, our raspberry bush is popping out berries by the dozen, and Jen has taken to making her own raspberry jam!  It is absolutely delicious and it’s such a treat knowing it comes from our very own backyard.  What a great feeling.  Here’s a pic of (literally) the fruits of her labor:

We wish everyone a wonderful Halloween/Autumn season…and we’ll get some more pics up soon!!  Take care…Love,
MJCE&CJ

  1. Nice decor. How old are the raspberry bushes? I thought of planting some this year but did not get to it.

Your house looks great! Seems too early for fall!

    Love Gramps

It all looks fantastic. You have been busy. Love the new pics along the sites borders too. I can’t believe the number of raspberries!!

The raspberry bush is actually a transplant from our old house…so it is at least 4-5 years old. This is it’s second year in it’s current (and now permanent) location – and it’s just going nuts!

And as for that bowl of berries in the pic above, that is after 2 days of picking (or about 4 days total!)
    :)

  5. Great job on the site, MJO! Your home looks fallishly, spookily, beautiful! The jack-o-lantern reflections on the wet walk create a perfectly creepy feel. Hmmmm, wonder what your little goblins will dress up as this Halloween…Muah,GT

Sorry to disagree with you Matt, but the raspberry bush was planted mother’s day of 2007. We decided to plant one because we loved our ones at the old house so much. We didn’t get much of a yield last year, but this year, you are right, it has gone NUTS! :)

  7. Thank you Matt and Jen for your responses. Luckily, I have a few months to decide where to put one.
