Well wouldn’t ya know it…Spring is here! As for Winter? – meh…it didn’t bother to show up this year, rather it sent it’s unpopular-cousin, “Mr. Extended-Dry-Boring-Autumn” to keep us company from October to March. But alas, this past weekend was the first weekend of Spring – and boy did it deliver! We had clear blue skies and 70+ degree temps to welcome in the new season. While it’s sad we never had a real Winter, it sure was fun hanging out in the yard with the kiddos!
This weekend saw some Spring-cleaning inside the house – and some yard work outside the house. I think the highlight for the kiddos was when I was working on the sprinkler system, and had to keep checking them to make sure they were working…which of course meant they had to run through them each time. They were completely soaked after a few minutes – and LOVED every minute of it.
As for the yard – it looks pretty good considering the depressing lack of moisture this past ‘winter’. Jen’s lilac bushes are all budding and looking like they will be enjoying their best year yet…and our new trees all seem to have endured their transplanting with flying colors. The whole yard is just full of buds! Oh – and the garden is looking great as well! The Gnome took good care of the herb garden and we have a nice little bunch of parsley, chives, onions, oregano, etc. popping up amongst the dead stuff. We just love our yard and can’t wait to enjoy all the fun that Summer brings.
Here are a few pics of our weekend…full of new growth and fun in the sun!
So here’s to a FANTASTIC Spring season! We have a bunch of fun stuff planned for this Spring, and we would love to hear your plans as well! Comments are always welcome!
We started working on the yard too this weekend! Funny:) Our bulbs are already blooming (daffodils) and the herbs as well. We are going to do some major work on the garden next week…do you have a wheelbarrow we can borrow? Here’s to the sunshine and a great tan! The question is…what do we do with Em?:)
We absolutely have a wheelbarrow you can borrow!
As for what to do with Emily? – I thought that’s why you wanted the wheelbarrow!
Yard looks great already. So do the kids!!! Glad the lilacs are doing well.
