Happy 2nd Birthday Cory!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cory!!

It’s hard to believe, but two years have gone by since Cory was born on April 9, 2007.  That’s right…our little ‘CJ’ has been falling down, bumping his head, laughing out loud, and throwing things at the TV for two years now!!   In the grand scheme of things, two years isn’t exactly a ‘long time’…but that being said, I can’t imagine our life without him.  And while our family was pretty darn perfect before we became a family of five, we’ve reached a new level of happiness with him in our lives.

Before I started writing this post, I took a few minutes and browsed through pictures of the last couple of years (which turned me into an emotional mess who’s incapable of forming a coherent sentence – so I apologize!)  In doing so I was reminded of just how many memories we have made with Cory, and just how much he has blessed our lives.  Sure, there have been some tough times – but he’s been a trooper through them all and we just love him so much.

Usually I would continue to ramble on and on and on here, but this is HIS day…so I’ll just wish him all the happiness and love in the world and wrap this thing up.  And if you’re a regular here, you know that any birthday-blog-post is NOT complete without ‘singing’ the song!!  So here we go:

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Cory…
Happy Birthday to you!

Jen, Cameron, Ellie and I love him soooooooo much – and hope he has the bestest birthday ever!!

  1. I can’t believe our baby isn’t a baby any more. It’s also hard to believe that just two short years ago we were counting the days until he came (16, that’s right, I said 16, days AFTER his due date). He sure took his time, and he still runs on his own schedule. :)

The crib is gone, the high chair gone, the onesies gone. We no longer have a baby in the house. Cameron and Ellie have been begging for another sibling lately, but Cory is the last of the babies to run through our house. In a sense it is sad, but in another, it is exciting that we have been able to start doing things that you can’t do with a baby.

Cameron now has a constant person to play ball with. Soon enough Cory will be able to play as well as Cameron demands, and then Cameron better watch out! Ellie has someone who will hang on her every word and will always be willing to have a tea party with. They sit up there for minutes (I was going to say hours, but that was SO not true) pouring and drinking invisible tea.

Watching the three of them together (when they’re not killing each other) is truly magical, and looking back on the day that Cory entered our life is very emotional. He completed our family. Here’s to CJ on his special day. We love you Cory, and happy birthday! :)
