San Francisco Made My Feet Hurt!

San Francisco Made My Feet Hurt!

Phew!  We are back from a wonderful vacation…and without a doubt, San Francisco is one unbelievably fantastic town!  Since we were able to cram so much into our trip, I thought it best to break it up into a few separate updates as opposed to one monster post.  For today’s update, we will focus on just exactly ‘where’ we went, and ‘what’ we were able to see.  Come on in and check it out!

So, even though we were only there for (basically) three days, we were able to see numerous famous sites, taste a bunch of delicious foods, and ride on any number of public transportation.  Just writing it down makes me realize exactly how busy we really were.  This post is nothing great, rather it will just serve as an update as to ‘what we saw’, since the most common question I received today was ‘Did you see..?

Here goes!  For starters, we took more forms of transportation in the past few days than I think I’ve taken in the past year combined.  When all was said and done we took a spin on the following:

  1. Train (BART)
  2. Taxi Cab
  3. Cable Car
  4. Streetcar
  5. Bus
  6. Ferry
  7. Catamaran
  8. Airplane

Fairly impressive list if you ask me.  Now just what did those numerous forms of transportation take us ‘to’ and ‘from’ you ask?  Check out the list below for a glimpse of what we glimpsed:

  • Union Square
  • Embarcadero
  • Ghirardelli Square
  • Fisherman’s Wharf
  • Golden Gate Bridge
  • Napa Valley
  • Angel Island
  • Alcatraz
  • Pier 39
  • Nob Hill
  • Chinatown
  • Lombard Street
  • …and so many more sights it’s impossible to list!

And here’s a map I threw together that illustrates just how much of the city we were able to cover, and how we went about covering it (walking, riding, etc.):

All in all it was an unforgettable way to celebrate 10 unforgettable years of marriage.  We hope everyone was able to enjoy their Independence Day weekend as much as we were…and we’ll update this site with some pics of our trip in the coming days.  Stay tuned!

Take care,
Matt & Jen
