This past Saturday Cameron and Ellie each had 3 friends spend the night for their first ever birthday sleepover at our house! Talk about the perfect ending to a crazy/insane/busy/tiring/busy/busy week!! While I don’t necessarily look forward to the next time there are NINE children under our roof, I have to say the birthday party was so much fun, and all of the kiddos were outstanding.
Thankfully the weather cooperated and we were able to start the party by enjoying some swimming and pizza at our community pool. It was a lot of fun watching the kiddos play around with their friends (and even CJ got in on the fun too!). After the pool we grabbed our scavenger hunt lists and went out in search of some hard-to-find items (8 2003 pennies!?! really?!) The kids had a great time running around the neighborhood, but as the evening grew dark it was time to head home for cake and presents.
Since we were soooooooooo done with birthday cake, Jen whipped up a couple gigantic chocolate chip cookies and Cameron and Ellie selected a couple toys to sit on top. They were yum-yum-goody! After the cookies we opened presents…and talk about chaos!! Wow – I think you could have heard the eight of them a mile away. The presents were great and our kids were so thankful for the gifts.
The final item on the agenda was a movie night for the boys and girls. I set the boys up downstairs with some popcorn and we watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Meanwhile Jen and the gals cuddled upstairs and watched Tinker Bell. Contrary to my face in the picture below, I thought the movie was fun and I got such a kick out of listening to what the boys were saying throughout.
While the night was long, and I think Jen and I were ‘up’ more than we were asleep, everything went well on the whole. After some breakfast and games/beads in the morning the kiddos said goodbye to their friends and, just like that, the party was over! We are so thankful for the wonderful little friends that Cameron and Ellie invited – it was so nice to have them in our home for the night.
If you made it through all my blabber above, here are some pictures from the festivities…enjoy!!
While I’m still completely exhausted, it was such a fun time – and I’m glad we have these pictures to reflect upon. Thanks again to everyone involved, and Happy Birthday to Cameron and Ellie one last time!!

What fun pictures. Looks like everyone had a great time. Love the scavenger hunt lists. You do look a bit tired during the movie, Matt. I have loved all the recent posts. Thank you!
Love, Mom
Looks like fun for the Kiddo’s but what about m & d?
