A Great Vacation – By the Numbers

A Great Vacation – By the Numbers

We’re home!  For those of you who don’t know, Jen and I took the kiddos out to Nantucket for spring break – and what a fantastic spring break it was!!  We flew out of Denver on the red-eye flight (11:59pm) on Thursday, March 18th and returned early in the morning March 26th (and when I say ‘early’, I mean ‘tucked-the-kids-in-bed-after-1:00am-early’!!!)  It was a wonderful week on the island and a huge thanks to Grandma and Gramps for making everything so special!

Since it takes some time to compile, sort and edit all the pictures, I thought I would throw together a fun little post to give you just a glimpse at some of the craziness we were able to cram into EIGHT DAYS:

  • 8 suitcases
  • 4202 miles
  • 2.5 miles of walking in Boston
  • 2 airplanes
  • 150 seashells
  • 4 geocaches
  • 2 boats
  • 5 beaches
  • 1 taxi
  • 340 pictures

…but perhaps the most amazing number of all is ‘3‘.  And that stands for the three unbelievable, amazing, strong, independent, tough and mature young kiddos that Jen and I have.  From watching Cory pull his own carry-on through the airport at 11:30pm – to having none of the kids complain about walking the Freedom Trail in Boston (in 30 degree weather) – to watching Cameron get compliments from total strangers for his politeness – to getting a giggle from Ellie every time she had to ‘cheese-it-up’ for a picture – I could not be more proud of the children we are raising.  They are so special, and I love them more than anything in the world!!

We are so lucky to be able to travel across the country and we are incredibly grateful for all the wonderful memories we have from our vacations.  Thanks for reading – and I’ll get some more pics up as soon as possible!!

Take care,

I actually kind of pooched the taxi number…we really took TWO taxi rides, but it was the same taxi driver – so I counted it as one :)

(and it was to and from the boat on the island)
