It’s that time of year again…

I realized this morning while walking Cameron and Ellie to their first day of school that the expression “time flies” is ringing more and more true with each passing year. Honestly, I could subject my loyal reader (notice the clever use of singular there…hi mom) with countless paragraphs of ‘where-has-the-time-gone’ anecdotes, but instead I will pull myself together and focus on the issue at hand.

Where was I?  Right…first day of school.  So this morning, Cameron attended his first day of FOURTH grade.  He’s very excited to get things going this year, perhaps because his classroom is upstairs?  Whatever the reason, he had a difficult time going to sleep, and spent the morning in a hyper-nervous-anxious mood.  And although Cameron tends to ease into each grade like a pig easing into a pint glass (ie. not easily), I’m certain he will do amazingly in fourth grade – and continue to blow Jen and I away with how smart  he is.

Speaking of smart…Ellie walked to school as a beaming SECOND grader this year.  Like her brother, Ellie was extremely excited to get the show on the road today, evidence by the fact she was up at 6:35a putting the finishing touches on her ‘first-day-outfit’.  She looked so pretty, and I can’t believe it was just two years ago we were dropping her off for her first day of Kindergarten.  Oops – I feel myself slipping into one of the aforementioned anecdotes…better wrap up!

So without further ado…here are a few pics of the kiddos from this morning:

Thanks (as always) for reading…and we’ll be sure to keep you all updated on just how great the kiddos are doing at school!

Take care,

Here I am your loyal reader. What great pics. Cameron looks so much older and is so cute and Ellie is so pretty. Hope they both had good days and Cameron settled down. We are on the boat going home after a quick trip to Hyannis. Thanks for the post. Will call tomorrow. Tell the kiddos hi and that we love them.

  2. Wow… They are growing up too quickly. Really??? Cameron will be in middle school in TWO years!!! I’ve taught middle school for so long, I don’t think I ever thought I would really see the day I had a child in middle school!!!

I sent a message via Blackberry on the boat coming back from Hyannis, but it doesn’t show. I love these pictures and can’t believe how they are changing. Cameron is looking so much older and so cute. Ellie is so pretty. I love these “beginning of school year” pictures but like you each new year seems to come too fast. Hope they both had great days and Cameron was able to relax. First days are stressful. Thanks for the updates. I really enjoy every one.
